Beach Theme Weddings

It is summer, and who does not enjoy the beach. A beach themed wedding is perfect for summer. The wedding party can show off their lovely tans. With a beach themed wedding the clothes can be more casual, and can be less expensive. Consider wearing a gauzy white halter or sun dress. Envision the groom in cool linen slacks and an open collar on the crisp cotton shirt. Think of sandals instead of high heels and polished perfection in shoes. The mood is already set and it is an atmosphere of fun. Of course, the opposite is also true. A beach themed wedding can be a destination wedding, with elegant formal wear, and the open sea as a backdrop. The groom might want to wear a tropical white tux. The bride would be lovely in a shimmering sheer charmeuse or chiffon. Pearls of course, would be the jewelry of choice at a beach theme wedding.

The invitations for a beach themed wedding might look like a water color picture, or be elegant in pearl white designs. Colors that echo the seaside, like periwinkle and aqua, or sandy beige would look delightful to invite friends to a beach themed wedding. The paper goods for a beach themed wedding could have pictures of star fish or shells, or of colorful flowers that are seen at an exotic beach location in the tropics. A lighthearted theme could focus on treasure and treasure chests for the beach themed wedding. Use star fish as a focus in a beach themed wedding.

Candles are a must at a beach themed wedding, or tiki torches, perhaps. Candles need shelter from the ocean front breezes so enclosed lanterns or elegant glass cylinders would be a starting place at a beach themed wedding venue. Use sand, and shells, feature starfish and beach glass, and bring the ocean to you. Flowers can include fragrant plumeria, and palm fronds and hibiscus. At a beach themed wedding all kinds of natural found items are the order of the day.

Cakes for a beach themed wedding can have piped on frothy ocean waves, or a romantic cake topper of a couple lounging on the beach. Feature frosting or marzipan shells on a smooth fondant icing. Pearls in swags are very elegant for a beach themed wedding cake. The wedding punch can be a delightful blend of tropical fruit flavors, with or without alcohol. Favors can be a humorous as flip flops or as stylish as ocean polished shells. Sparkling champagne flutes with ocean shaped charms, or coconut styled beverage cups run the range of prices and design in beach themed weddings.

An ocean themed wedding does not have to be a summer wedding. It can be the perfect getaway in the middle of winter in the middle of the country. With all the décor available a beach themed wedding may be the answer to an icebound winter. February, the shortest month can seem interminably long when the whole world is icebound. Think romantic, like Valentines, think tropical, like the beach, combine both and have a beach themed wedding, whether summer or winter; inside or out. Let’s go to the beach.
